Using the 6SL7/6SN7/6SU7 tubes as the amplification stage, and 6L6G tubes as the output buffer section, this unit is also built with a 6X5 tube rectifier, which gives you the best price performance fully balanced pre-amplifier. All Hand-wired point-to-point and component-to-component up to the highest possible standard.
This pre-amplifier has a special
HD
switch feature, it can give you a very high level of adaptability to different types of music. The HD
position is more adapted to Rock, Pop, vocal and Jazz with better dynamics, focus and 3D sound stage, while the default position is more suitable for Blues, Vocals, and Classical instrumental music. Of course this feature can also use to match different combination of an audiophile system.
The 1st photo set shows the most updated QA-114-Mk2-Super, which equipped with some added features over the regular model, which is 1W high power headphone output, EL32 compatibility, MDE (Micro-dynamic extraction) circuit upgraded as well as enhanced chassis design.
The 3nd set of photos show the special G version of the QA-114, which has an elegant look combining both black and gold colors. Additional cost applied (add C$300 for G version).
This pre-amp can use more than 100 different tube combinations to fine-tune the tonal quality as well as dynamics and richness, the front tubes can direct replace with 6SN7,6SU7,6188, ECC32,ECC33,ECC35,CV181...etc, the rear output tubes can use 6L6, 6K6, 6G6, 6V6, 6F6, 6Y6,KT66,6550, EL34, 5881, KT88, KT99, KT100...etc. The Super version can take also EL32, CV1052, VT52 and KT120 / KT150 as well.
The 6X5 tube rectifier can further upgrade by our super rectifier STR-104 / STR-1001 / STR-1002, direct plug and play to replace the 6X5 rectifier tube without any mod required.

Level 1 upgrade : (+ C$200)
Special designed "Super-Drive" circuit, output impedance lowered to 200ohm (can drive any power amp inputs from 600ohm up to infinity) with better bass control and punch , better definition and improved in overall tonal quality. By adding this upgrade, it sounds like the output with 10 pieces of power tubes being installed . With this level of upgrade, just add another $50 and you can have a headphone output with enough power and current to drive your headphone directly.
Level 2 upgrade : (+ C$500)
Level 1 upgrade + Enhanced input circuit design with increase of max. input levels , further lowering of distortion and increase dynamics, as well as better air and openness . Enhanced components quality for better sonic reproductions with higher resoltuions.
